William "Bill" J. Aubel is an Associate in the Energy industry group, focusing primarily on litigation. He practices out of the Firm's office in Charleston, West Virginia.
Bill did not just stumble into a career as an attorney – after working for seven years in the business world, he actively chose to turn his attention to law. Whether assisting more senior litigators, conducting legal research, or writing briefs, Bill is an asset to the Jackson Kelly team because of the perspective he's gained through his real-world experiences.
Since obtaining his law license in 2017, Bill has been busy learning the ins and outs of the legal profession. This includes assisting senior attorneys across different industry groups and practice areas in order to gain experience and knowledge in a specific area of the law. While Bill is cultivating this proficiency, he enjoys drafting briefs, motions, and memoranda, which allow him to become adept on the matter at hand.
When he’s not in the office, Bill can be found spending time with his wife, daughter, and English Bulldog, Royal, on the golf course, or shooting hoops. In high school, he was an All-County State Championship basketball player, and uses this competitive drive in the workplace. He hasn’t forgotten his Floridian roots, and cheers on his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins, every game day.
